Podcast Liberation: Set Your Podcast Free

The Envelope Tool

If you do decide to include music and sound effects on your show, then good for you. It makes it a little more complex, but it does make your show more recognisable and starts to build an audio brand for your podcast.

To overlay music and voice well, you’ll find the envelope tool invaluable. This simply allows you to adjust the volume of a clip as it plays, so that you can reduce it at certain points, increase it at others, and fade it out over time if required. You can also do that with the Fade In and Fade Out tools, but the envelope tool gives you a lot more control and a nice visual representation of your volume changes.
