The Knitting Example, with Jo Milmine of the Shinybees Podcast | Podcast Case Studies

Knitting seems to be the default example anyone in the medium will give when making the point that you can podcast about anything.

And this week’s guest Jo Milmine is doing exactly that with her show Shinybees. Not only is she podcasting about knitting though, she’s actually having a lot of success with it too, and that’s the purpose of this week’s conversation.

Ten Years of Podcasting, with Andy White

This week we have an interlude from Series 5 of Podcraft in the form of an interview with Andy White. Andy is a hugely experienced UK based Podcaster who runs The Internet Marketing Podcast, a hugely successful show on the ubiquitous subject of digital marketing.

In this episode we learn a tonne from Andy’s experience of making that show a success. He covers interview tips, the logistics of keeping a show running for such a long time and how to keep it all sustainable. We also have a brief chat about how to earn a living out of being a podcast producer. Andy’s story is fascinating, and great to her from a fellow UK podcaster who’s been around the scene for such a long time.

Audio Branding and UK Podcasting with Mike Russell | The Podcraft Podcast I1

mike-russell-mrc-600x399It’s time for an in-between-isode, otherwise known as an interruption to normal programming! If you’ve been listening long, you’ll know Series 2 is all about Podcasting equipment, taking you through the audio chain from start to finish. Well, this is a little break from the techie chat, and instead a conversation with the founder of the UK Podcaster’s Community, Mike Russell.

Mike Russell, along with his wife, Izabel, run Music Radio Creative, one of the best known audio branding, audio production and voice-over companies on the market. Somehow, alongside running MRC, they’ve found time to start and nurture the biggest Podcasting community currently in the UK. Most recently this led to the amazing UK Podcaster’s conference which happened in Birmingham in August, at which I was luckily enough to be a speaker.

During this episode Mike and I cover a lot of ground, ranging through how podcasting is developing in the UK and how we compare to the states, to the development of podcasting listening habits and platforms. I had a great time talking Podcasting with Mike, so I hope you find a few things of interest in there too.

As always, gimme feedback! Let me know what you think. I’d love to get more callers on the show, so send me an audio question. Record yourself and send me the MP3 at podcraft (at) thepodcasthost.com. Talk soon!
