Fascinating insight into extreme promotion tactics. Leaves you with 3 choices I reckon:
1 – Follow the tactics of the interviewee and go all out to promote your podcast using similar tactics.
2 – Have a podcast that is so irresistible that it almost self promotes through the uniqueness and excellence of the offering.
3 – Accept the outcomes of a democratic market to drive your growth, obviously coupled with best efforts on a more conventional promo strategy.
I think it’s the latter that I’m going to do but I certainly had my eyes opened to the power of some of the media involved here and it’s an area that it seems to me that we shouldn’t ignore – even if it’s followed only some of the way.
