Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals for Podcasters

article featured image

I’m one of those Luddites who would rather knit myself a new sweater than buy one. I have used a sock as a pop filter. The only reason that I don’t use a cat bed as a mic shield is because Sassafrass would kill me. Therefore, most would say it’s a terrible idea for me to write about Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals for Podcasters.

Or is it?

I flat-out refuse to let any podcaster spend too much money on gear and software. And it’s the fourth quarter of the year. This means consumer electronics and tech companies are going to be very careful with the discounts and coupon codes they offer right now. Potentially, now’s the best time for you to buy the thing you really need for your podcast. Let’s go shopping.

Downloadable Deals for Podcasters

The cost of podcasting can rack up quickly without you having much physical stuff to show for it. Software, sound effects, music, and so on can cost a pretty penny. But, this time of year, you can make good podcasting purchases on software, plugins, and other intangibles that make a difference.

iZotope’s Cyber Season Deals for Podcasters

iZotope is one of the standard-bearers for quality and convenience in the sound design world. And, Izotope is offering up to 50% off on pro audio repair plugins for Cyber Season. Plus, Izotope’s YouTube channel has loads of video tutorials to walk you through installation and using these plugins.

Waves Audio

If you’ve ever read our Waves Plugins for Podcast Production guide, you’ll know just how powerful these tools can be. From getting rid of excess noise or reverb to enhancing your sound with compression, levelling, and EQ, Waves can help you take audio quality to the next level. They’re always generous with their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals and this year is no exception. At time of writing, you’ll find plugins for less than $20, as well as up to 40% off some other purchases. Take a look at the full range of Waves plugins and see which ones you fancy.

Presonus Studio One 6 Year-End Sale

This offer goes beyond Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so you have time to think about this deal for podcasters. But why wait? Presonus’ Year-End Sale helps you save 30% on recording software. Their latest version of Studio One 6 includes native immersive audio and Dolby Atmos® mixing. If you want to make a podcast that takes your audience into a whole new world, Presonus has deals for podcasters that deliver.

Simplify Your Podcast Workflow With Alitu

Alitu is the podcasting system where you can record, edit, polish, host, transcribe, and distribute your show all in one website. And now, Alitu’s Ultimate Podcaster Bundle (now ended) is available for a savings of 50% off. This includes:

In fact, if you’re looking to podcast with a friend, you can share the love with the Ultimate Bundle x2, for $499. That’s 69% off. Not only are you generous, you’re empowering your friends.

If you want to keep it simple, there’s a single Black Friday and Cyber Monday for podcasters: one year of Alitu for $290. That’s a 23% discount. Plus, podcasters save by having their recording, editing, transcription, and hosting all in one nifty package. Still can’t decide? Alitu now offers text-based editing. You’re welcome.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals on Podcast Gear

Before I started podcasting, I used to spend money on makeup and clothes so people would think I was attractive. Now that I’m a podcaster, I buy myself microphones, interfaces, and portable drives so people know I’m a prize. So can you.

Deals for Podcasters on Microphones

I’d be remiss in my duties as a podcaster if I didn’t mention the Blue Yeti. Logitech’s little darling has merged price, convenience, quality, and cuteness to acclaim. As I’m writing this, the Blue Yeti USB Microphone is 35% off at Amazon. Our Blue Yeti review can tell you more about what makes this a great mic.

If you want something a little more dynamic (you see what I did there), Maono is another microphone brand we enjoy quite a bit. The Maono PD400X has a limited-time offer and a coupon, so grab this while you can. Sarah’s review of the PD400x will give you more details about this budget-friendly podcasters’ friend.

Finally, there’s 28% off the brilliant Shure MV7X right now, but stock is very limited, so move quickly if you’ve been after one of these for a while.

Deals for Podcasters on Audio Interfaces

XLR microphones need an audio interface. Amazon Prime users can take advantage of Focusrite’s Black Friday deal for podcasters on the Scarlett Solo. She’s red, she’s beautiful, and she plugs right into your computer via a USB cable. Need to plug in two mics? The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 has a special offer for Prime members, too. You can learn more about Focusrite and other quality interfaces in our review here: Best USB Audio Interfaces for Podcasters.

Deals for Podcasters on Headphones

Sennheiser is one of our favorite brands of headphones for listening to podcasts. The Sennheiser Momentum earbuds have gone through some changes since our last review. But, this brand is consistently a worthwhile investment. And, for a limited time, they’re 35% off, making this a deal for podcasters you can be proud of.

When we tested the best headphones for recording, editing and production, AKG proved to have good sound, but the comfort wasn’t perfect. AKG now takes comfort more seriously with their Pro Audio K702 headphones. And, for a limited time, they’re available at a deep discount.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals on Memory

No matter what you use to record your podcast, if you don’t back it up and save an extra copy, you’ve got nothing, particularly if the cat steps on your power strip. Sass is still mad at me for using her cat bed as sound treatment.

Samsung’s SSD T7 Portable External Solid State Drive provides 2 TB of portable storage. The price is a nice deal for podcasters for a limited time. For a more discreet backup storage method, I use the Samsung Bar Plus in Champagne Silver. That’s not even a deal for podcasters. I recommend it because it looks mysterious and sexy on a long silver chain around your neck. Plus, it provides 256 GB of portable USB storage for less than the cost of Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick.

Treat Yourself, or Treat Your Other Favorite Podcaster

Most of these Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals for podcasters have a limited time window, so read the fine print at the link. I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to make a great podcast, but you do need ingenuity and a willingness to take action. These deals won’t last, so if there’s something you really want, get it while you can.
